This quick, easy pasta has a secret to its creamy tomato sauce: hummus. It blends right in for a smooth, creamy texture, without an obvious hummus flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 package pasta
- 1 container hummus (about 200 g (7.1 oz) / 7 oz)
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and black pepper
- Fresh dill, for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to the package directions.
- While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the crushed garlic and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
- Add the tomato sauce and hummus to the skillet. Stir well until the hummus blends in and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, stir in a little pasta cooking water.
- Drain the cooked pasta and add it to the skillet. Toss well until the sauce coats all the pasta.
- Serve right away, topped with chopped fresh dill and a little freshly ground black pepper.
Tips
For an even richer texture, use hummus with extra tahini. You can also season the sauce with sweet paprika or oregano.
